July 5, 2008.

We had 2 July 5th this year! One in NZ and one in Rarotonga!

No1: We left gold coast at 4am to check in at 5:30 at Brisbane for our flight back to Auckland. Out flight was great – we have decided that Emirates is the way to fly! We arrived at Auckland airport at about 1pm and didn’t catch our next flight until about 10pm so we spent the day mooching around at the airport hoping time would fly! Col and Cam fell asleep for a couple of hours and I read my book, which helped pass some of the time nicely!

No2: 1st day in Raro! We arrived bright an early this morning and have the beach on our doorstep! Is really beautiful, just as you imagine it to be really. I went to the markets this morning and left Cam and Col sleeping. Col and I went and got our Rarotongan drivers licenses and hired scooter to hoon around on! Col went snorkeling with the boys and then we had pizza for tea with everyone at our place.

July 4, 2008.

We went to Movie world on our last day at the Gold Coast. Again we had an awesome time! Col and Dawn went on a couple of roller coasters but I just hung back with Cam. LOL I have been a bit of a wimp this time round at the theme parks! I haven’t wanted to hurt my back any more than it is. Hopefully one day when it’s better we can go back and I can go on all the rides! Movie world has an awesome kids section which was a highlight for Cam, along with Batman and the Bat mobile!

July 3rd, 2008

Today we went to White water world – it was so much fun!! Cam had a ball going down all the kids slides and racing around like a madman. We had a blast watching him and chasing around after him! The day was focused on Cam and Col and I didn’t go on many of the big slides at all! Had a great day there though and would definitely go again!

July 2nd, 2008

We went to Dream world today. It was heaps of fun! As soon as we arrived we found a ride that we thought looked good, it didn’t have a height restriction so we decided it would be ok for cam too… **Note to self…always watch rides before deciding to take little people on them!!**

After about 5 mins (probably not even that, but felt like a lot longer) of a ride way WAY too scary for a 4 year old we had a very quiet and shaken little boy on our hands! It didn’t take him long to forgive us though and decided to trust us and go on the kids rides a bit later in the day!

We had a great day, Col didn't go on all the big scary roller coasters that he'd been looking foreward to (I think he got cold feet, although he won't admit it!). I was never going to because of my back...so maybe next time aye?!

OK, well I'm going to have to do heaps of posts all at once because I havn't done any during our holiday. So here goes...

July 1, 2008.
Cam and I flew to Brisbane this morning – Dad took us up to the airport at midnight last night and we arrived at about 5:30 This morning. Col arrived at about 8 and we all (us and Dawn and Gary) drove over to Gold Coast. After a bit of confusion over why there were so many more toll booths heading back to Gold Coast than there were heading over we discovered that we were going the wrong way! So a relatively short trip turned into a long one but we got there in the end!! Out apartment was really nice and had lots of room which was cool.
Didn’t do much else today –went for a look around town and just generally mucked around really! Cam and Col braved the coldness of the swimming pool but not me!!
